THE UNITED
METHODIST CHURCH OF VISTA FOUNDATION, INC.
was incorporated
in 1983 to receive gifts from friends and members held in perpetuity in the
form of an endowment. Foundation investment income is used for a variety of
purposes, notably scholarships, missions, and other unbudgeted items
benefiting our church.
The Foundation is an independent corporation governed by a Board of
Directors (separate from the church Trustees) consisting of 12 persons,
one-third of whom are elected each year at the annual All Church Conference.
United Methodist Church foundations are subject to the rules and regulations
of the Methodist Book of Discipline.
The objective of the Foundation is to supplement
t and support church
activities beyond those supported by the annual church budget, including but
not limited to: scholarships, current technology to enhance the Ministry;
support of Methodist seminaries, Universities and Colleges; and mission
outreach.
If you would like to make a special or memorial gift to the Foundation Tree of Life, you may pick up an application from the holder next to the Tree of Life in the Narthex of the Church. Complete the application and return it with your gift to any Foundation Board Member, the Church Office or Pastor George. Leaves may be added to the Tree of Life for a minimum donation of $250, or a Manzanita Stone for $1000. All contributions are placed in the United Methodist Church of Vista Foundation Inc. trust fund. Earnings on the principal are to support expenditures such as higher education scholarships, camp scholarships, and support of United Methodist Seminary students, mission outreach projects, and other items that are not supported by the regular Church budget.
