UMR Communications

The Wesley Ministry Network is a new experiment in theological education. The purpose of the Network is to strengthen the ministries of the local church and to enable Wesley Theological Seminary to become a church-centered seminary. Churches thrive when they are connected to a strong seminary, and seminaries are strong when they are affiliated with vital congregations.

The Wesley Ministry Network works to build the church through a variety of activities. Our current focus is on meeting the need for high-quality adult educational materials that make accessible to laypeople the broad mainstream of Christian theology. It is our vision to be a leading resource for the education of the whole church in the whole world. To this end, we are striving to bring the teaching of the world's best theologians to your local church.

Wesley Ministry Network materials are used in churches in a wide range of denominations across the United States and in several other countries around the world. All of our educational materials are available from Cokesbury, both by catalog, on line (Cokesbury.com) and in many Cokesbury bookstores nationally.

The Youth worker Movement is a membership organization of adults who work in youth ministry. It provides a national network that connects people for the purpose of supporting their ministries in youth work and improving congregational youth ministry in the United Methodist Church.

This movement encourages all to ask questions, exchange ideas, and share "Aha!" moments with other dedicated youth workers.

The Youth worker Movement seeks to connect:

At Southwestern College, we encourage you to grow in faith and develop a firm foundation and understanding in your beliefs. By "plugging you in" to personal ministry and "on the job" experience, our desire is to see you charged up with the energy that only Jesus Christ can provide through a strong spiritual walk with Him.

The Institute is dedicated to providing educational opportunities that nurture and enrich Christian leaders, lay and clergy, for effective living and ministry.

UMR Communications didn't develop the UMPortal by itself.
Collaborative partners include The General Board of Global Ministries, The General Board of Higher Education and Ministry and The Richard and Julia Wilke Institute for Discipleship.

Project Transformation® is a nonprofit, Christian organization that provides ministry exploration and leadership development opportunities to college-aged young adults, and community oriented programs for children and youth living in low-income neighborhoods of North Texas.

Methodist Disciple is a weekly 30 minute (or so) podcast featuring Christian disciples, authors, and leaders. The objective of this podcast is to provide ideas to help lead the Christian community to make better disciples and stronger churches. While the Methodist Disciple is produced by the Riverside District of the Cal-Pac Conference of the United Methodist Church and is intended primarily for a Methodist audience, we feel that the ideas expressed are applicable to all denominations of the church that worships our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Following each podcast, members of the Methodist Disciple Discussion Group will be able to participate in asking questions of the guest who was interviewed.  To become a member of that discussion group, you will first click HERE and then click “Join this group” to apply for your Google username and password (unless you already have a Google username and password).

Thanks for joining us…we hope you’ll come back frequently and send us your comments.
