United Methodist Women (UMW)
A community of women of all ages whose purpose is to know God,
experience freedom as a whole persons through Jesus Christ and to
participate in global missions. Our women's unit meeting is the third
Tuesday of each month except in July and August and they meet at United
Methodist Church of Vista in the fellowship hall at 10:00 a.m.
Our circle meetings are on the first Tuesday of each month except in
July and August and meet at various homes.
Our PURPOSE:
The organized unit of
UNITED METHODIST WOMEN shall be a community of women whose PURPOSE is to
know God, and to experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ;
to develop a creative, supportive fellowship; and to expand concepts of
mission through participation in the global ministries of the church.
Who Is a Member?
A member of United Methodist Women is anyone who commits herself to the

Purpose of United Methodist Women. Members of United Methodist Women use
scripture, experience, reason and traditions as ways to fulfill our
Purpose.All essential components of the organization’s key
emphasis–mission—are based on Scripture. United Methodist Women is a
community of women whose purpose is to knowGod. Spiritual growth and
theological development are at the heart of United Methodist Women.
The second part of our purpose is to experience freedom as whole
persons through Jesus Christ. This includes, education for mission,
awareness of social issues, leadership development, schools of Christian
mission, events like National Seminar and Assembly, and financial support
for mission programs and projects throughout the United States and around
the world. These experiences are
where women deepen their faith and gain strength on their personal and
