CONGREGATIONAL SUPPORT MINISTRIES

Worship, Education, Membership/Congregational Care, Stewardship, Family Ministries

Coordinator: Beth Brainerd Hallock

Think about your life! It’s not too late. Why are we here as Christians? Is our purpose to eat, work, sleep and have fun? What can we do as Christians to make this day, this week, this month, this year better because we are here? (1) We can let God know we are here. Thank the Lord for our blessings, families, church, friends and for the opportunities to help others less fortunate. (2) We can do the very best we can and ask God to do it. We know that God expects us to do our best.  (3) We can do much more to help others than we would ever imagine. Don’t say we just can’t do it.  (4) We can support our church. This is the way to make your church an important part of your present and future life.  Support your church by donating your time and efforts to a church committee and church activities. This is how to get acquainted, gain friends, and become an active member of this faith family. Support your church with your talents. What can you do? We all have talents. Support your church by pledging part of your financial blessings according to your ability. Without the support of each church member, we cannot have a budget to support the very necessary activities of our church.                                                                                      –Don Raun

SPECIAL NOTE: On October 3rd the House of Representatives and the Senate extended the IRA Rollover provision which will allow those 70 1/2 or older to make tax-free contributions directly to the Church from their IRA. This provision extends through 2009.                         -Harold MacDermot

This month, we’ll be doing a food drive for Interfaith Community Services.  Interfaith supports the needs of North County’s growing problems of poverty, homelessness and other human needs (i.e. social, senior, employment, veterans’ housing (emergency and transitional) and alcohol and drug services).  We are helping to resupply their food pantry.  (Please bring donations to church by October 20).
