Peace Vigil, Sept. 15
Reconciling Ministries is sponsoring its 6th
Annual Peace Vigil on Sunday, September 15 at 4 p.m. The program will begin in the church sanctuary and conclude outside at the Peace Pole. This is a fun event of speakers, song and dance about the importanceof peace in our world in recognition of International Day of Peace. “Established by the United Nations in 1981, and first observed in September 1982, this day epitomizes our joint aspiration for a world devoid of discord and turmoil”. This year’s theme is directed towards the role of Sustainable Development. Please join us! There will be light refreshments served in the upper social hall following the program.

Acolyte Training
Acolyte Training is Sunday, Sept. 8 following
the worship service. This is an opportunity to signal
start of worship by bringing Christ’s light in and then
ending the service by taking Christ’s light out. All
ages are welcome. The sign-up sheet is in the narthex or you can call the church office.

Women’s Retreat
The Education/Discipleship Committee
has revised our program for our upcoming Women’s
Retreat, on Saturday, Sept. 28, 9:00 a.m. to 12:30
p.m. Our speaker will be Dakota Koenig, music will
be provided by Heidi Kendall, and Kathy Johnson
will be leading us in crafts. Light refreshments will be
provided upon your arrival, and a spaghetti lunch will be served at 11:15 a.m. (approximately) with salad, refreshments and a light dessert. The cost is $20.00 per person, please invite a friend! The monies that may be raised from this event will be going towards the Education/Discipleship Committee. See Suzanne McMurchie in the narthex to register. Please RSVP by Sept. 21.

An interpreter for the Deaf/and hard-of-hearing will be here on Sept. 1 (first Sunday of the month). We are striving to ensure that God’s Word is accessible to all. Please invite anyone you feel could benefit from this service.

we are headed. This six-week series will start with
the sermon in worship each week. Then we will join
together for a study that helps us dive further into each topic on Sundays after worship, in person in our social hall, or you may join us online Tuesday evenings via Zoom from 7-8 p.m.
