Every Thursday volunteers come in from 10:00 – 5:00 to prep and carry out the Thursday program, 2 Fishes & Helping Hands, which includes:
- A partnership with Humanity Showers offering free showers to any community member
- A hot homemade meal made in our commercial kitchen
- Bagged lunches such as sandwiches, chips, and fruit
- Non-perishable grocery items
- Fresh fruit and vegetables from North Country San Diego Food Bank
- Pastries from the Fresh Rescue Program
- Hygiene and safe living products in conjunction with Helping Hands
- Sleeping bags, tents, toothbrush, soap, band-aids, tampons and more
- Clothing
- Jackets, shoes, socks, underwear, pants, shirts, bags and more
We primarily serve the local unhoused community as well as single family households and see 40 – 60 people every Thursday.
We have also historically partnered with Vista Community Clinic, local barbers, Operation Hope, AT&T, Verizon, and Mariners Oceanside Food Pantry to provide additional services to our community.
