Every Thursday the United Methodist Church of Vista offers a free food, hygiene, and clothing distribution program. Distribution begins at 3:00pm and ends at 5:00pm. Showers open at 12:00pm.
We primarily serve the local unhoused community as well as single family households and see 40 – 60 people every Thursday.
Volunteers come in every Thursday from 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM to prepare bags of nonperishable goods, a hot meal and all other 2 Fishes offerings, which includes:
- A partnership with Humanity Showers offering free showers to any community member
- A hot homemade meal made in our commercial kitchen
- Bagged lunches such as sandwiches, chips, and fruit
- Non-perishable grocery items
- Fresh fruit and vegetables from North Country San Diego Food Bank
- Pastries from the Fresh Rescue Program
- Hygiene and safe living products in conjunction with Helping Hands
- Sleeping bags, tents, toothbrush, soap, band-aids, tampons and more
- Clothing
- Jackets, shoes, socks, underwear, pants, shirts, bags and more
We have also historically partnered with True Care, Vista Community Clinic, local barbers, Operation Hope, Verizon, and Mariners Oceanside Food Pantry to provide additional services to our community.
